I love spending time with readers and welcome the chance to talk about my books. I’m available by Zoom or in person within the greater-Seattle area.

“My book club read Katherine Scott Jones’s excellent book, Her Memory of Music. I reached out to Katherine and invited her to our next book club meeting. She graciously accepted the invitation! We had a lovely time with this very lovely and talented writer!”

Whether it’s with a MOPS meeting, ladies’ luncheons, or church gatherings, I enjoy sharing stories and what I’ve learned along the way.
“Katherine has blessed us twice by being our guest speaker. She is an amazingly thorough researcher and had her audience in the palm of her hand as she introduced us to the settings and characters of her books.”
Diane B., Kent, WA
Tailored to the personality of your group, I’ll use photos and personal stories to give readers a peek behind the curtain of one of my novels (your choice!).
Discussion will include: interview and research tidbits that didn’t make it into the book; what’s real in the novel, and what isn’t; what I found most challenging and most fulfilling in the writing of it; what I hope readers will take away from the story; and more.
Our family has traveled the world together since our kids were young—and more importantly, we’ve enjoyed doing it! We’re an ordinary family that has made world travel a budgeting priority.
Why undertake the expense and, yes, sometimes stress of traveling the globe with children? In this inspirational presentation, I’ll share what I’ve discovered to be the “sweet spot” of traveling with kids age-wise. We’ll discuss the benefits of taking them along, including how travel shapes worldview and bonds a family together.
I’ll offer plenty of practical tips for saving money and gaining affordability, plus tried-and-true tricks for handling travel challenges.
Why it’s not enough for the savvy writer to merely know her reader—she actually needs to know her reader’s brain.
In this entertaining and informative session, I’ll share what the latest brain science teaches about how we process *story*—and how a writer can leverage this to create a page-turner.
We’ll also discuss why a writer’s passion for her subject alone is not enough to ignite her reader’s brain—plus 3 story secrets revealed.

It’s my privilege to join with International Justice Mission (IJM) in the fight to bring beauty to the brokenness of this world.
IJM is a global organization that partners with local justice systems to end violence against people living in poverty.
I became impassioned about partnering with IJM after researching and writing Her Memory of Music. Read more about my journey here.
I deeply value IJM’s attention to the many different components of care surrounding rescue and restoration of the vulnerable, including its approach to working with local leaders and law enforcement, and its commitment to finding long-term solutions to this worldwide problem.
Today, I serve as a champion for International Justice Mission as they fight abuse of police power, slavery, and violence against women and children around the world.
Buy my books. I am proud to support the work of IJM with proceeds from sales of Her Memory of Music and Shadow Sister. Buy a book, protect a person! Buy signed copies here.
