Little Bits of Lovely | September edition
Sometimes it’s the little things that make life lovely.
Today I’ve invited a few favorite friends from around the web to help me celebrate those little bits of beauty that in the last month have ushered in joy.
Enjoy!
Custom book sleeve. I am such a bookworm, and lately I’ve been acquiring reading=adjacent items because they make my book-loving heart happy. I often carry physical books with me, as well as my e-Reader, because I like to have options. But I don’t like it when a book gets its edges ruffled or the cover bent inside my tote bag. Hence, the book sleeve. This is a handmade book sleeve called ‘Rainy Day Reading’ and it’s from Grace by Shan. This particular sleeve fits an 8.5 x 11 book. The boutique has lots of options, including sleeves for e-Readers. ~ Heidi McCahan, author of An Unexpected Arrangement
MILK Highlighter. As a WOCA (woman of a certain age), this is my favorite cosmetic because a quick swipe across my cheekbones makes my skin look hydrated and younger. You only need a tiny bit. I have the large size of this product and it’s lasted nearly two years already! (Photo on my website is unretouched so you can see it in action!) ~ Maggie Wallem Rowe, author of This Life We Share
Yardley English Lavender Bar Soap. Such a simple pleasure that makes my heart happy. I love its subtle scent and the way each new bar feels in my hands. Can’t beat the price either—only a dollar at my local Dollar Tree. ~ Katherine Scott Jones, author of Her Memory of Music
J.R. Watkins lavender air freshener. I am a big fan of lavender. We have several plants, and we harvest all the flowers and dry them. Here’s a lovely lavender score I made at T.J. Maxx (only $3.99 for 6 oz — and also available at Target, Walmart, Fred Meyer, Bartell Drugs, Amazon, and even, The Home Depot ). Made with plant-based ingredients, this air freshener has a light (not overpowering) lavender scent. A couple of spritzes in my home office before I start work clears my brain and gives me a positive outlook on my workday. ~ Laura Christianson, host of Blogging Bistro and The Professional Writer podcast
How about you, friends? What little bit of lovely has sparked joy for you this month? Please share in the comments! ~ Katherine xo
This post is so fun to read, Katherine. We all need a little bit of lovely in our lives!
